Hi, I'm Ms. Amanda Hyatt and I teach in the Freshman Academy. I've been teaching at Hillwood for five years, and this is my second year with the academy and I love it! I teach English I and AVID I. AVID (Advancement via Individualized Determination) is a class where I help students succeed in their academic classes and prepare them for the world of college. In addition to this, I sponsor the Hillwood Anchor Club, which is a girls' volunteer organization where we help our community and school through various projects. I also provide after-school tutoring here at Hillwood for any student who needs extra help in their other classes. I want to help every student succeed, both here at HHS as well as in the real world.
