Dr. Gore, a Dallas native, attended Emory University, GA  State University and Vanderbilt-Peabody.  She holds a B.A., an M.A. and the Ph. D.  Focal points of her work have been Milton’s archetypes of angels, the Metaphysicals, and the nature of poetic tragedy in William Butler Yeats.  Her background for the IB Theory of Knowledge class comes partly from her minor for the Ph. D., the History of Ideas.

At Hillwood, she is chairman of the Sunshine Committee, runs the school newspaper, The Alphorn, and the creative arts magazine, The Perspective, and helps with the senior class.

Doc Gore is a published poet, and a founding member of the editorial board of The Cumberland Poetry Review.  She and Charlie, her husband of 34 years, have 2 grown children and a Maine Coon mixed cat, Smoky Joe Jim Bob Tex.
