The vision of Metropolitan Nashville Public Schools is to become the top performing school district in the nation. Establishing, implementing and monitoring high quality standards within the district are essential in meeting this vision. The School Board governs the district through Policy Governance.
Under Policy Governance, the Administration is responsible for establishing all of the operating policies within the school district. Members of the Director's Cabinet sponsor policies applicable to their division. Policies are written by the Cabinet sponsor and presented to the full Cabinet for approval. The Director of schools is ultimately responsible for approving district policy. District policies are reviewed annually and published quarterly.
